F-tone Networks’s XFP-RF transmitter is a small form factor hot-pluggable optical module that is compliant with interface specifications developed by the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE). The wavelength of the transmitter can be electronically set to any of 43 DWDM wavelengths across the entire C-band in less than 0.5 second. An integrated wavelength locker keeps the wavelength within 2 GHz of the wavelength center over the life of the transmitter. It can be fully loaded with digital QAM channels from 50 MHz to 1218 MHz to enable cable operators to more effectively segment their serving groups and offer more services to their subscribers. The small XFP module significantly reduces power consumption and increases density for downstream transmitters. These modules can be integrated into today’s Hybrid-Fiber Coaxial (HFC) optical broadband platforms and tomorrow’s converged access platforms (CCAP).

It can be fully loaded with analog carriers from 50 MHz to 3000 MHz in order to enable operators to effectively utilize a broad range of frequencies when designing distributed antenna systems and RF Over Fiber networks. F-tone tunable SFP+ transceiver is fully compliant to SFP+ MSA. It supports 50GHz DWDM 10Gb/s SONET/SDH, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and 10 Gigabit Fibre Channel applications over fiber without dispersion compensation. Digital diagnostics functions are available via a 2-wire serial interface, as specified in the SFP+ MSA and SFF 8472 MSA.
The F-tone DWDM tunable XFP 10 Gbps multiprotocol optical transceiver is an integrated fiber optic transceiver that provides a high-speed serial link at signaling rates from 9.95 Gbps to 11.1 Gbps. The module complies with the 10 Gigabit small form factor pluggable (XFP) multisource agreement (MSA).
