Description
QSFP+ Active Optical Cable
F-tone QSFP Active Optical Cable (AOC) FTCQ-8540G-PCT-XX and FTCQ-8540G-PCT-XX*-1 is a high performance integrated cable for short-range multi-lane data communication and interconnect applications. It integrates four data lanes in each direction with 40 Gbps aggregate bandwidth. Each lane can operate at 10 Gbps with lengths ranging from one to 100 m. These Active Optical Cables utilize multimode fiber using a nominal wavelength of 850nm. The electrical interface uses a 38-contact edge type connector. F-tone is producing QSFP+ to QSFP+ AOC and QSFP+ to FOUR SFP+ AOC.

QSFP AOC Wiki
Active Optical Cable (AOCs) extremely low power consumption, improves overall data center power consumption and thermal efficiency. AOC’s use single mode silicon photonics (SiPh) to enable long transmitting on single mode ribbon fiber. AOC pigtails (QSFP+ to MPO) allow for easy plug in to installed SM structured cabling, thus eliminating the need to pull the AOC through long distances.
AOCs reduced cable bulk compared to larger diameter copper cabling enable deployment of additional ports for increased number of AOCs per system, resulting in more connectivity options and total system cost savings. Optical pluggable QSFP+ MTP† cable assemblies are available in 12-fiber 3.00mm round cable and a robust 4.50mm round cable.

40G Multirate 10km QSFP+ Optical Transceiver Module
F-tone's QSFP-40GM-LR4 QSFP+ transceiver modules are designed for use in 40 Gigabit Ethernet links and 4x10G OTN client interfaces over single mode fiber. They are compliant with the QSFP+ MSA and IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE-LR4 and OTU3 C4S1-2D1 requirements specified in ITU-T Recommendation G.695. Digital diagnostics functions are available via an I2C interface, as specified by the QSFP+ MSA. The transceiver is RoHS-6 compliant and lead-free per Directive 2002/95/EC, and F-tone Application Note AN-2038.
QSFP+ Transceiver
F-tone QSFP+ (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus) is a new Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) for high speed application, such as 40G-BASE, which provide four channels of data in one pluggable interface. Each channel is capable of transferring data at 10Gbps and supports a total of 40Gbps.
QSFP+ Loopback
QSFP/QSFP+ Passive Electrical Loopback FTCQ-XLB is used for testing QSFP/QSFP+ transceiver ports in board level test. The electrical loopback provides a cost effective low loss method for QSFP/QSFP+ port testing. The FTCQ-XLB is packaged in a standard MSA housing compatible with all QSFP/QSFP+ ports.
