光电复合缆包含4根HDTV摄像机供电用的电源线（20AWG）2根信号控制线（24AWG）和2根用于视频和音频传输的单模光纤，此种复合缆中芯贯穿一根1.8mm高强度钢丝，整体编织网屏蔽，这种设计将保证结构的完整性，同时保持良好的绕性，从而可以延长电缆的使用寿命。此种复合缆即可以用于连接室外作业实况转播的不同摄像机，也可被用于把演播室摄像机连接的控制室的固定装置中。
