 AFBR-83EVK

          The Avago AFBR-83EVK evaluation kit is designed to provide designers with a convenient means of evaluating the electrical and optical performance of Avago CXP and CXP AOC fiber optic transceiver modules. A downloadable user guide is available upon request, which provides full description of the evaluation kit and graphical user interface (GUI) along with basic operating instructions. The evaluation kit includes the following (excluding the CXP transceiver modules):

  • An AFBR-83EVB Eval Board
  • A CD Containing Customer User Interface Software
  • iPort I2C Communication Interface for Control and Digital Diagnostics Monitoring
  • Access Probe Points to Low Speed Signals (i.e., Int_L, Reset_L)
  • 24 Surface-mounted SMA Connectors to Connect to 12 Differential Rx High Speed Lanes
  • 24 Side-mounted SMA Connectors to Connect to 12 Differential Tx High Speed Lanes

A list of Avago CXP and CXP AOC products supported by the evaluation kit includes (but is not limited to) the following:

         The Avago AFBR-2CARxxZ Active Optical Cable (AOC) is part of a family of SFP+ products to serve 10Gb Ethernet (10GbE) applications. The letters “xx” of the part number AFBR-2CARxxZ denote the cable length in meters. The AFBR-2CARxxZ enables 10GbE equipment designs with very high port density based on the electrical and mechanical specification enhancements to the well known SFP specifications developed by the SFF committee. The specifications are referred to as “SFP+” to represent the enhancements over previous SFP specifications. The SFP+ AOCs have a cable length up to 20m. These AOCs can be used as an alternative solution to SFP+ passive and active copper cables, while providing improved signal integrity, longer reach, superior electromagnetic immunity and better bit error rate performance
